This Privacy Policy describes how OBZENA LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States ("OBZENA," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the PDF Watch mobile application and its accompanying Apple Watch companion (collectively, the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Documents and files you choose to send to your Apple Watch (PDFs, photos, text, DOCX). These are processed to render images for the watch.
Optional feedback you submit through in-app prompts (e.g., "Did you like our app?"). If you submit feedback, the text and the source of the prompt are sent to our backend.
Support messages you send via the in-app contact form, including your message and, if you provide it, an email address for reply.
Chat questions you send to the in-app AI chat feature. The text of your question and any related content is forwarded to OpenAI for processing (see Section 4).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Anonymous account identifier — On first launch we create an anonymous Firebase Authentication user so we can sync entitlements and limits. We do not collect your name, email, or Apple ID for this purpose.
Device and app metadata — App version, build number, iOS version, device locale, country code, and language code. We attach this to feedback, review, and support events for diagnostics and quality.
Subscription status — Whether you hold an active premium entitlement (managed via RevenueCat / Apple StoreKit). We do not see your payment card or Apple ID.
Usage counters — Daily question counts (per UTC day) for the AI chat feature, used to enforce plan limits.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your real name, phone number, contacts, calendar, or photos library content beyond what you explicitly choose to send.
We do not collect precise geolocation.
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
3. How Your Documents Are Handled
Documents you select to send to your Apple Watch are processed on your iPhone, rendered into page images, and transferred to your watch over Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. Local copies are stored on the device for offline reading.
Document content is not uploaded to our servers for the watch-transfer feature. The transfer happens device-to-device via Apple's framework.
4. AI Chat — OpenAI Processing
The App offers an in-app AI chat feature that lets you ask questions about a document. When you submit a question:
Your question text and relevant context (such as the source text from the document you are asking about) are sent over an encrypted connection to our Cloud Functions backend.
Our backend forwards the request to OpenAI's API (openai.com) so that an AI model can generate a response.
The response is returned to your device and displayed in the chat.
A log of the question (and metadata) is stored under your anonymous user ID in our database to enforce daily limits and to debug issues.
OpenAI processes the data according to its own privacy and data-usage policies. We do not control how OpenAI handles requests; you should review OpenAI's policies if this is material to you.
You should not include sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, financial credentials, or medical records) in chat questions.
5. How We Use Information
To provide and operate the App's features (document transfer, AI chat, premium entitlements).
To enforce daily usage limits on AI chat for free and paid plans.
To respond to your support requests.
To analyze aggregate feedback (likes, dislikes, free-text feedback) and improve the App.
To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
To comply with legal obligations.
6. Service Providers
We rely on the following third-party providers to operate the App. Each provider processes data only for the limited purpose described.
Apple Inc. — App distribution, in-app purchases, anonymous push delivery, WatchConnectivity.
Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Remote Config) — Anonymous account identity, backend storage of feedback / support / usage events, server-side configuration.
RevenueCat — Subscription state synchronization tied to your anonymous user ID.
OpenAI, L.L.C. — AI chat request processing (see Section 4).
7. Data Retention
Anonymous account, subscription state, and usage counters are retained while the App is in use and for a reasonable period afterwards for fraud and abuse prevention.
Feedback and review events are retained for product analytics; you may request deletion (Section 9).
Chat question logs are retained to enforce limits and assist in debugging; we delete them periodically.
8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and rely on Firebase and OpenAI's security controls for data at rest. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you;
Correct inaccurate information;
Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
Restrict or object to certain processing;
Receive a portable copy of your data;
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You can also delete your in-app account from Settings → Delete Account, which removes your anonymous user record and associated server-side data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@obzena.com.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. International Transfers
OBZENA LLC is based in the United States. Our service providers may store and process data in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to jurisdictions outside your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated within the App or via the App Store description. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
